Having experienced a full loss of electrical power, my paid emergency cover with an insurer failed to materialise. After 2 days, I decided to get a local electrician. The stand out reviews were for Dave. He arrived within half an hour of my call. Dave set about finding the fault, whilst restoring power to other areas. Dave proved to be polite, professional, and he had a wealth of experience and knowledge which was reassuring. He was utterly confident that he could find the fault and fix it. He certainly did! Apparently a rodent had chewed a cable! He not only bypassed the damaged cable, but then came back the next morning to check and test all the sockets. He is the Fault Finder General. If you find yourself in the predicament that I was in, you will find that it is not the cost that is important but the outcome! He answered straight away, was with me in minutes, returned the next day (on a bank holiday weekend) and did a tricky repair flawlessly. Dave is a very nice, honest, fairly priced, career served Electrician of some 40 odd years experience and it shows in the quality of and pride in his work. He upgraded my Hager consumer unit in line with current regulations, added a circuit for future car charging socket, safety tested all the circuits in the house and installed an outdoor socket all for a very reasonable price. Dave came round to sort out a power loss to my shed for me. He sorted it within minutes. Very polite. Knowledgeable by and came round when he said he would. I want some more electrical work done later in the year and will definitely be calling Dave back to do the work for me. Highly recommended

Delighted to have a reliable, professional electrician to call on. Mr Shaw came promptly and did an excellent job for us. He also offered to double check all of the electricity safety in our house after he had slight concern about the way a double plug had been installed previously, which he did without extra charge and luckily found everything in order. We will definitely be using Ashlawn Electrics for any future work needed.
